Our Mission

Project PLASE, Inc. addresses homelessness by providing transitional housing, permanent housing and supportive services to homeless adults. We serve the most vulnerable and underserved, including persons with mental illness, HIV/AIDS, addiction, developmental disabilities, and ex-offenders, etc. We treat, restore and rehabilitate the whole person. We empower each individual to function at the highest level possible.

Volunteer Opportunity: Help Our Garden Grow!

GH

We will soon begin our second year of organic gardening with Garden Harvest out in Reisterstown. Starting on Saturday, April 3 and continuing through November, PLASE will be taking trips to the farm to plant, weed, and harvest. We need volunteers to make our garden a success! See the volunteer page for more details.

Upcoming Event: Purses For PLASE at the Baltimore Flowermart, May 7-8

Come out to support Purses for PLASE at Baltimore's annual Flowermart! Each year, PLASE collects gently used purses to sell at our Purses for PLASE booth. All proceeds go directly towards addressing homelessness in Baltimore. Please consider donating your gently used purses or volunteering with Project PLASE to help make Purses for PLASE 2010 an even greater success!

DID YOU KNOW?

According to SAMHSA's Treatment Episode Data Set (TEDS), more than 120,000 admissions to substance abuse treatment in 2000 were homeless at time of admission. Admissions who were homeless were more likely to be veterans and were older (average age 38 years) than admissions who were not homeless (age 33).
