Community Partners 2012
We look forward to working with our existing partners and welcoming new community partnerships this year to help our residents as they re-gain housing in the community. Community Partners 2011
Thank you again to all our in-kind donors and volunteers for making our work at Project PLASE possible! VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIESWant to Stay Up to Date?Join our Volunteer E-Newsletter to get the latest news about volunteer opportunities! Updates also include volunteer interviews and clients talking about volunteers who have made an impact in their lives. Direct Service ActivitiesProject PLASE offers a variety of volunteer opportunities ranging from one time events to ongoing projects. Our volunteer projects include tutoring residents, participating in social activities, moving residents, providing arts and crafts instruction, helping to maintain our buildings, and facilitating relaxation classes (yoga, walking, tai chi). Such programs have a powerful impact on our clients, staff and volunteers! Purse Power!“Purses for PLASE” returned to the Fells Point Fun Festival for a second year this fall. The Fells Point Fun Festival is the largest street fair in Baltimore, and we were excited to be a part of the events again this year. Despite the chilly and forbidding weather, there were a lot of attendees at the fair, and we raised over $1,600! We’re looking forward to our next “Purses for PLASE” event, at Mount Vernon’s Flowermart. Mark your calendars for May 4th & 5th, 2012! If you would like to host a “Purse Party” to collect donations for Project PLASE, or organize your own purse drive, please contact Faith at 410-837-1400 ext. 36. Gardening with Project PLASEApril through November will be PLASE's second season of organic gardening with Garden Harvest in Reisterstown. PLASE staff, volunteers, and clients take multiple monthly trips to the farm to plant, weed, and harvest. It's a great way to learn more about gardening, get out in the country, and get some exercise!
Garden Volunteer Days last from 9AM-1:30PM and include weeding, tilling, composting, preparing rows, and planting. You do not need to have any prior gardening experience to participate. If you are interested, contact our Volunteer Coordinator at 410-837-1400 x36. To learn more about PLASE's green projects, visit our blog LEARN ABOUT OUR VOLUNTEERS!
