Events

Project PLASE hosts a variety of events throughout the year. These events range from our annual MLK celebration, which recognizes Dr. King for his impact on our culture and society, to our Annual PLASE Picnic, which helps foster a sense of community among our client population.
Purses for PLASE: The booth to beat at Flowermart 2010
Purses for PLASE was one popular booth this spring at the Flowermart! Both Friday and Saturday we had a steady flow of excited shoppers & return customers who were eager to partake in good deals for a great cause!
Thanks to the generosity of numerous community groups and individuals, especially the Bryn Mawr Alumnae Association and many departments at Johns Hopkins Medicine, PLASE sold 600+ purses and raised over $2,700 in profit.
Due to the overwhelming success of our booth this year, we will begin collecting new and gently used purses year round. To donate a purse, please contact our Development Projects Manager at 410-837-1400 x33 or donate@projectplase.org.

DID YOU KNOW?
In no state does a full-time minimum wage job cover the costs of a one-bedroom unit at Fair Market Rent, and in 45 states and the District of Columbia, families would need to earn at least double the minimum wage in order to afford a two-bedroom unit at Fair Market Rent. (Out of Reach: Can America Pay the Rent?, via the National Coalition for the Homeless).
