Thanks to WBAL and YOU!
The outpouring of generosity for our clients has been great. We got the storage space! Now we really need volunteers and a big truck to move the furniture from the donors home to our clients who are moving into permanent housing.
A huge thanks to Kathy Diehl from Self Storage One, who after watching the WBAL Video Clip, donated storage at 7 facilities across the Beltway.
DID YOU KNOW?
In no state does a full-time minimum wage job cover the costs of a one-bedroom unit at Fair Market Rent, and in 45 states and the District of Columbia, families would need to earn at least double the minimum wage in order to afford a two-bedroom unit at Fair Market Rent. (Out of Reach: Can America Pay the Rent?, via the National Coalition for the Homeless).
