Community Investment Tax
Through the Community Investment Tax Credit (CITC) program, businesses and individuals can significantly reduce their Maryland tax liability and help Project PLASE deliver housing and hope to homeless citizens. “Businesses and individuals that donate to Project PLASE can earn tax credits equal to 50% of the value of the money, goods or real property contribution. These tax credits are in addition to the deductions on both Federal and State taxes as a result of the charitable contribution. ” Division of Neighborhood Revitalization at the Department of Housing and Community Development When a business (doing business in Maryland) or individual (domiciled in Maryland) donates $500 or more, they receive state tax credits over and above the typical tax deduction benefits that come with charitable giving.
